1. After preparing all the necessary materials, ensure that the patient is lying on their back for easy removal. 2. Undo the tabs and assist the patient lying on their side, facing away from you. To do this properly, you can guide their hips by pushing them in the direction away from you. 3. Once the patient is on their side, gently bend their knees so that you can hold the front of the diaper. 4. Roll the adult diapers inward while gently pulling them back. Make sure that you tuck in any mess. Then dispose of it correctly. 5. Use wet wipes to clean the bottom from front to back. Make sure they are spotless, including the groin and the folds. Dry the skin using dry wipes. 6. Then, turn the patient on their other side facing you. Make sure you follow the step from number 2. Repeat step 5. 7. While air-drying the skin. Change your pair of gloves. 8. Apply barrier protection to make the skin moisturized and healthy. You can use mild lotion and moisturizer, especially on the buttocks area. 9. Prepare the adult diaper, position it at the back, and slightly tuck it in the hip. 10. Gently roll the patient on their back and gently pull up the adult diaper. 11. Secure the diaper tabs. To make it snug-fitting, secure the top tabs facing down and vice versa. 12. Once set, remove your gloves and dispose of them properly.
Changing pull-up style diapers
Pull-up underwear or diapers can be worn while lying down and standing. If you need the constant wearing of this incontinent product, you might somehow need to know how to put them incorrectly. To do this, follow these easy steps:
1. Before changing diapers, make sure your hands are clean and wear gloves. 2. If your patient can stand, let them stand up where they can get hold on to something like a grab bar. If none, let them lean on the wall. 3. Rip off both sides of the diaper’s delicate part. It is commonly located on the hip part of the diaper. 4. Pull the diaper downwards until it goes down on the knee area. 5. Roll the diaper inwards and tuck in any mess. Then, dispose of the diaper properly. 6. Let the patient bend their knee up. Then, clean the bottom from front to back and make sure to tidy up the groin and folds of the genitalia. Dry the skin using dry wipes. 7. Change your gloves. Then, prepare the new diaper and put it on, like wearing briefs or panties. Make sure the sides are well tucked to avoid leakage. 8. Remove and dispose of the gloves properly.
